Description

Der Hessische Radfernweg R8 führt über knapp 300 km von Frankenberg Eder nach Heppenheim. Aufgrund der Streckenführung wird er auch Westerwald-Taunus-Bergstraße genannt. 

Der Weg führt von Nord nach Süd an der Grenze zu Rheinland-Pfalz. Die erste Hälfte führt durch die Ferienregion Lahn-Westerwald bis nach Limburg. Dort ist der Limburger Dom äußerst sehenswert. Von Limburg aus führt der Weg durch die Mittelgebirgslandschaft des Taunus. Insbesondere der lange Anstieg nach Idstein ist hier etwas schwieriger. 

Über Darmstadt führt der Weg durch die Region Bergstraße bis zum Zielort Heppenheim. Dieser letzte Abschnitt ist wieder etwas einfacher. Zum Ende hin ist die Tour komplett flach.
